Letter to the Editor:
I would like to thank the Jefferson businesses that contributed prizes to the Jefferson Elks annual Christmas Dinner. Without your support, we couldn’t do this for the Bingo after the meal. We would also like to thank all the volunteers that gave up their Christmas Day to prepare, serve and clean up. Thanks also to the Does Drove 196 for all the pumpkin pies they provided. You all are appreciated.
Thank you to Jean Feldmann for organizing the donations. Thanks also to The Printers Box, Addies Boutique, Country Blessings, Funky Zebra Jefferson, Royal Jewelers, Warm Wishes, Jefferson Telecom and Deals Orchard for their many prizes. Thank you to the Iowa State Horticulture Department for the poinsettias. Also thanks to HyVee for the turkeys and Fareway for the hams that were donated.
Meals were picked up, delivered and over 120 ate at the lodge. A total of 243 meals were provided for Christmas dinner.
